Nouns and Verbs Pantoum Poem

“What does it mean to be a writer?” I sometimes ask myself.

I wonder if a writer is a profession, a dream, a hobby, or simply a noun.

“It's easy,” you say, “You put letters together upon the page.”

Yet, how do you write? How do you think?

Is a writer a profession, a dream, a hobby, or simply a noun?

“To Write” is a verb. So simple. So neat.

Yet, how do you write? How do you think?

Noun and Verb—and somehow you create magic.

“To Write” is so simple. So neat.

A chemical reaction.

Noun and Verb—and somehow you create magic.

It somehow can create or destroy all in its path.

Power is what man has sought from Creation.

The snake tempted Eve to be like God—to be a god.

And thus man has pursued. Is a writer synonymous with this?

“What does it mean to be a writer?” I sometimes ask myself.
